NAMM: A tour of EHX’s Ring Thing

A surprise from EHX at NAMM this week was the introduction to the Ring Thing. Dubbed a single sideband modulator, the Ring Thing offered ring mod-type tones with the unique characteristic of note memorization. The pedal is capable of recording the note/key you are playing in and creates ring mod effects that remain musical with that key. Sporting square, sine and sawtooth waveforms, as well as a ton of presets, the Ring Thing is a curious animal that brings harmony to the noise maker genre of pedals.
