The little amp that stole the show
The LA Amp Show was chock full of amazing boutique amplifiers – a veritable smorgasbord of ear-pleasing tone. But even in a world populated by the best of the best, by process of elimination, one can arrive at the very best, top of the heap, A #1. While there was no such award at the show, there was still plenty of scuttlebutt, hallway whispers and after-hours chatter… and the one amp that just about everyone was talking about was the little grey one in the Mercury Magnetics room – the Morgan RCA35. It’s a clean, high-headroom American-voiced beauty… and according to some very knowledgeable folks, worthy of your attention.
