Walrus gets two-faced
The crew at Oklahoma-based Walrus Audio will be taking a stab at dual-purpose pedals in the near-term from the looks of a teaser photo that was posted on the company’s Twitter account. The photo shows early artwork for the upcoming Janus stomp – a dual fuzz and tremolo effect. The Tremolo side boasts a Depth knob control and what appears to be an oversized knob (or joystick?) for Rate. The Fuzz side has another oversized knob (or joystick) for Fuzz, along with a Level and Blend knob. In the center of the concept are a pair of mode switches labeled Mode and Bass.
We wonder about the joysticks versus knobs mainly because of an older pic the company posted of a prototype that roughly shares the same form as the Janus. See the pic below. Also, from the looks of it, the new pedal appears to be a good fit for both guitar and bass. No word on pricing or availability yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
