Hartman Envelope Filter ships next month

Inspired by the original Mutron III and co-developed with guitarist Mark Karan, the new Hartman Envelope Filter is a recreation optimized for tone, flexibility, and ease-of-use. The Hartman Envelope Filter employs select, low-noise components for its signal path and an optically controlled state-variable filter for authentic timbre and response, according the the company. A second foot switch permits change of filter sweep direction. An active Mix control blends filtered and unfiltered signal. Factory preset internal trim pots permit additional tuning of filter action. The new pedal is priced at $289 and is expected to ship on 1 September.

Hartman releases updated SFZ fuzz

Hartman Electronics has updated its SFZ Dual-Stage Hybrid Fuzz pedal to include external 18vDC power capability. Users can run the pedal using two 9v batteries or via 18vDC external power. Hartman has also made the Bias control – previously available as an add-on option – standard in the SFZ. All pedals now ship standard with individual, dedicated bias controls for both the Silicon and Germanium fuzz stages. The Hartman SFZ contains two versions of the classic Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face circuit together in a single pedal. Each pedal is assembled using measured and auditioned pairs of new old-stock Germanium and Silicon BC108 transistors.

Hartman bringing back Analog Flanger

Hartman Electronics is bringing its Analog Flanger back into production. The company announced the return via a Twitter post yesterday. The pedal is a recreation of the original 70s era non-deluxe Electro-Harmonix Electric Mistress Flanger and Filter Matrix. The stomp has three knob controls (Speed, Depth and Color) and one mini-toggle (Flange/Filter), which allows the user to lock in on any point during the flange sweep. The Analog Flanger also boasts an internally adjustable clock-bias for more ‘metallic’ flange effects. The true-bypass pedal and can run off of a single 9V battery or 9-12VDC via the external power adaptor. The pedal previously sold for around $249.

Hartman tips Tommy Bolin signature fuzz

Working closely with the Bolin family and estate, Hartman Electronics has recreated legendary guitarist Tommy Bolin’s fuzz tone in an all-new pedal. California-based Hartman used an original model of Tommy’s go-to fuzz and refined the tone against the original, isolated guitar tracks of Bolin master recording. The result is a ‘three-knob box of dynamite’ featuring a definitive palette of tones from deep within the Bolin zone, according to the company. The 100% hand-wired stomp features Attack, Tone and Volume controls, true-bypass switching, on/off LED and external 9v (tip-negative) jack. The Bolin fuzz is available from Hartman’s website and is priced at $189.99.
