hcglazeThe crew at Hip Kitty have put out the official word on their boost/overdrive pedal, dubbed The Glaze. The stomp was created to add warmth and clarity to each note and chord played. The Glaze’s calling card is its ability to expand and add to the upper harmonic content – or ‘glaze’ it – while allowing the lower register notes to retain clarity and focus. The Gain control allows for the most minimal boost level up to an overdriven tube sound at higher gain settings. The Glaze made its initial debut at the 2009 Nashville Amp Expo in Nashville, Tennessee as a prototype test unit. Overwhelming feedback brought the pedal to market. Street price on The Glaze is $135.

Hip Kitty kicks proto opto-drive into gear

The fine folks at Hip Kitty Products have green lit the production of a compressor/drive pedal the company showed off at the recent Nashville Amp Show. The as-yet-unnamed pedal got rave reviews from the crowd at the show and top kitty and designer Neal Logdahl told What’s That Dude Play? that the pedal will go into production soon. Having sampled the stomp myself, I can say that it is offers a growling drive tone that aches to drive rhythm parts to hard rocking tunes. The company gave away the prototype pedal via a drawing at the show. Though I didn’t win, I am looking forward to getting my hands on one of these beauties for a future review on the site.
