Keeley unveils the new 410 Phaser

410phaserKeeley Electronics will debut the latest addition to their pedal line – the 410 Phaser at the Arlington Guitar Show near Dallas, Texas later this month. The analog pedal sports four knob controls – Ramp, Swag, Slow and Fast. A mini-switch toggles between Tap Tempo and Ramp modes. The 410 Phaser’s Swag knob works as both a depth control and as an envelope filter, changing where the signal is phased the hardest. Turn the knob full right and your highs are most enhanced. Full left and the lows get the boost. Keeley is looking for feedback on the graphics, so let him know what you think. Pricing and availability information is coming soon. Stay tuned!

New Keeley distortion on the horizon

Could it be that the long-awaited Keeley Electronics 537 FET Distortion pedal is right around the corner? Robert Keeley said recently that he completed the tone control network for the long-awaited new dirt box. The stomp would be the first new Keeley effect in about three years. The pedal boasts four knob controls – Gain, Bass, Treble and Volume. WTDP? first talked about the 537 about a year ago when Keeley offered up a preview image of the stomp on his MySpace page. Keeley himself has been kicking around the idea for a new distortion pedal for years. It won’t be long now! Stay tuned…

Keeley back up and running after fire

Keeley Electronics, which had its headquarters in Edmond, Oklahoma, damaged by fire last month, is now back up and running at full capacity at its secondary offices in Oklahoma City. “The worst of the damage happened to our parts inventory,” says owner Robert Keeley. “I had some rare treasures there, for sure, but nothing that would stop the world from spinning or Keeley Electronics from operating. The stock of built pedals and unmodified pedals all made it without any damage.” Full production is now taking place at the second Keeley facility which specializes in road/ATA/flight cases and Keeley guitar pickups.

Keeley Electronics destroyed by fire

The Edmond, Oklahoma headquarters of Robert Keeley Electronics was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon. No one was injured. According to local reports, the facility and its contents were a total loss. Firefighters responded to the scene around 3:30pm. Windy conditions made the blaze difficult to extinguish. It reportedly took four hours to get under control. Keeley employs about 15 people and brings in over $4 million per annum. Maker of the popular Keeley Compressor and Katana pre-amp stomp expects the company can be back up and running in two months. The company has a smaller facility in Oklahoma City that builds road cases.

Keeley offers sneak of new distortion stomp

Effects guru Robert Keeley this week offered his MySpace friends a sneak peak at a new distortion pedal he has been working on at his custom pedal shop in Oklahoma. Not much is known about the stomp – dubbed the 537 FET Distortion pedal. A quick Google does turn up an old 2004 chat with Keeley where he talks a bit about a FET distortion stomp he built for a customer, but at the time it looked like he had no intention of building the unit for the masses.

It is unknown if the new 537 is identical to the one-off Keeley built earlier in the decade, but chances are it is not a twin of that unit. More on this as it develops…
